Ebola Outbreak 2014
An outbreak of Ebola has been ongoing in West Africa since March 2014. It is the largest and most complex Ebola outbreak ever seen, and efforts to contain it will continue for some time. While the overall risk to the US is low, the first travel-related case diagnosed in this country underscores the importance of being informed about travel precautions, patient care and risk reduction strategies. This page provides resources and recommended guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health agencies.
While there is currently no health emergency here, LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans has been monitoring the latest information about the 2014 Ebola outbreak. No LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans-affiliated persons have been identified as having traveled to or from affected areas as of August 2014. We will continue to monitor the situation and update these pages as new information becomes available.
